Rational Developer for System i for SOA Construction
(RDi SOA)
IBM Rational Developer for System i for SOA Construction
(RDi SOA) can be used to extend and modernize existing RPG/COBOL
applications with EGL and HATS and through use of Web Services.
RDi SOA contains Rational Business Developer (RBD), Rational
Developer for System i (RDi) and HATS toolkit.

i5/OS program Web service from an RPG program using
RDi SOA and includes the following activities:
- Create and start the application server
- Create a new i5/OS connection
- Browse an RPG program source in Remote System
Explorer
- Run the Web service Wizard
- Test generated Web service

| This tutorial demonstrates a scenario
in which EGL and WebFacing projects are deployed using
two EAR projects and a scenario in which EGL and WebFacing
projects are deployed using one EAR projects. The
data is passed between EGL and WebFacing.
